How Do You Read a Magazine, Front to Back or Back to Front?

When you pick-up a magazine, do you thumb through the pages from the Front and work your way to the Back or start from the Back and work your way to the Front?

Over the last six months we have done extensive market research nationally on how the consumer reads magazines. In general, do they read from the Back to the Front or from the Front to the Back?  We also posted this same question on multiple magazine/media groups to get their thoughts as well. Believe it or not, 49% read from the Back to the Front and 51% start from the Front and read to the Back! Since we are consistently asked about ad placement we thought this was an important topic to address.   How do you are read your magazines at home, on vacation, on the airplane?
